 Many To Thank for Hunger

By Moeun Chhean Nariddh

ambodia has triumphed at last in being “listed among the worst of Asian countries” (“UN Report Maps World’s Hunger Hot Spots,” Wednesday, page 1).

The efforts that made Cambodia one of the “hot spots” should be acknowledged.

Thanks should go to those who brought the war to Cambodia in the early 1970s, to the Khmer Rouge who brought in genocide in 1975, to those who established another communist regime in 1979 and those who thrived to continue the war.

All of your contributions to the catastrophe in Cambodia will be remembered for many generations to come.

And don’t forget those who have helped cut down all the trees which brought about floods and drought.

Special thanks are deserved by those who have been actively involved in exploitation of the country through corruption in collaboration with honest businessmen.

Sorry to those whose names are not mentioned here. You know what you’ve done.
